In June 2019, a WipWare Technical Specialist visited Coeur Rochester Mine near Lovelock, Nevada, to install and commission a Vertex-S Conveyor Particle Analysis System. Working alongside the Thyssenkrupp team, WipWare configured the system for a two-month evaluation of automated oversize detection and its potential application in crusher optimization.
It’s always nice to be able to take in some local scenery and enjoy the trip, even when it’s business. As our Technical Specialist made his way to the Lovelock installation site, he had the pleasure of enjoying the stark, sun-drenched Basin and Range landscape through Reno, Nevada. For anyone in the geotechnical field, the drive offers a front-row seat to the region’s classic fault-block topography, tracking the volcanic cuts of the Truckee River Canyon before opening up into the vast, ancient Lahontan playa flats that define northern Nevada’s mining country.

Following the installation of the Vertex-S frame, the camera was focused and the scale was set. Additional installation of the fabric canopy will take place at a later time after lighting has been installed.
The product installed is a Vertex-S conveyor particle analysis system. This WipWare technology should perform very well in this application. The system will be able to detect oversize material allowing automation and improve crusher output optimization efforts.
Thank you to the Thyssenkrupp team for working with our technical specialist for a successful installation and commissioning.
