Record Crowds at Hillhead 2018 Buxton, UK

President Tom Palangio and Chief Technical Officer Thomas Palangio enjoyed the Hillhead 2018 attractions while attending Hillhead UK. Some of these attractions included the Man Engine and lots of sites in London.

Hillhead, UK is the largest quarrying, construction and recycling exhibition. Held in a limestone quarry in Derbyshire, UK, it is the largest exhibition of its kind anywhere in the world. It provides a spectacular and unique setting for exhibitors and visitors. As well, live working demonstrations and static displays to do business amongst.

Hillhead Attendance

Hillhead 2018 saw record numbers with a 6% increase in visitors on opening day and a record number of exhibitors. Day two saw record numbers, as well, with an 11% increase in visitors.

Visiting with Friends and Colleagues

While attending Hillhead, Thomas took the opportunity to demonstrate our WipFrag Image Analysis Software to a couple of EPC-UK exhibitors. WipFrag allows instant PSD analysis of digital images collected at the muckpile after a blast, a closer up sample of a stockpile, a laboratory sample or even drone/UAV images.

Also, on iOS and Android devices, customers can take advantage of auto-scaling capabilities eliminating the need for a manual scale reference. By removing this step, it makes taking these images safer for our customer.

Tom and Thomas had an opportunity to meet with friends including our Value-Added Reseller (VAR) for Western Europe, Guido Pas with Syscom BV and his friend Seamus. Of course, having your picture taken with friends beside a beautifully restored 1954 Porsche diesel tractor should never be missed.

While in London, one must partake of the beverages and take time to enjoy the beautiful and historic scenery. Some of the places Tom and Thomas were able to visit were Admiralty Arch (below), Cafe Rouge, Clarence Pub and Dining, Historic Royal Palaces and the Crimean War Memorial (below). So much history and beautiful architecture always adds to the trip and makes it more enjoyable and memorable.
