{"id":1627,"date":"2018-05-18T11:58:40","date_gmt":"2018-05-18T15:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wipware.com\/?p=1627"},"modified":"2025-11-14T12:06:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T17:06:41","slug":"wipware-closes-the-innovation-gap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wipware.com\/fr_ca\/wipware-closes-the-innovation-gap\/","title":{"rendered":"WipWare Closes the Innovation Gap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Janice Leuschen interviewed Tom Palangio, President of WipWare for <a href=\"https:\/\/issuu.com\/bigmininglp\/docs\/cmj_febmar2018-de\/48\">The Canadian Mining Journal<\/a> in their February\/March edition located under the <em><strong>Sudbury Innovation Cluster<\/strong><\/em> section on Innovation and Commercialization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the article, Tom speaks about <a href=\"https:\/\/wipware.com\/fr_ca\/products\/wipfrag-image-analysis-software\/\">WipWare&#8217;s WipFrag software<\/a> and the ability to measure a blast. &#8220;For us to be able to measure it in real time, actually opened a whole bunch of doors to the automated process.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He believes that the market for new products and services for mines is opening. &#8220;NOW IS THE TIME&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"578\" height=\"434\" src=\"https:\/\/wipware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Time-is-Now.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wipware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Time-is-Now.jpg 578w, https:\/\/wipware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Time-is-Now-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wipware.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Time-is-Now-16x12.jpg 16w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 578px) 100vw, 578px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been difficult, in the past, to get mining companies to look at new technologies to improve their processes. The Commercialization gap has makes it challenging for inventors to convince mines to use their new inventions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the mid-1990&#8217;s, Tom paired WipFrag software with his consulting services. This provided a great opportunity to show the mining industry how the software works giving tangible results. Due to an agreement with his former employer, Tom was not allowed to sell his WipFrag software domestically. As a result, Tom travelled extensively throughout Panama, Peru, Chile, South Africa and Australia.
