March 22, 2018

WipWare is very excited to be a part of the The 5th annual North Bay FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition. Thomas Palangio, Chief Technical Officer with WipWare will be judging student creations again this year. The competition will be held at Nipissing University March 29-31st. It is an intense three-day event showcasing robots developed and operated by over 30 teams of high school aged students from all over Ontario.

For the first time, North Bay will welcome an all-girls robotics team from Afghanistan. They will be joining FRC all-girls team SWAT 771 from St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School in Oakville to build a robot and participate in competitions in Toronto and North Bay.”FIRST Robotics Canada is thrilled that the Afghan robotics team will be joining us in our district and competing with FIRST Team 771,” says Mark Breadner, president of FIRST Robotics Canada. “We want to welcome them and are convinced they will have a great experience and make many new friends here in Ontario.”

Come up and see the thrilling event where sheer brain power coupled with ingenuity cause ordinary students to become extraordinary engineers.
Looking forward to seeing all the teams in action next weekend. Good luck everyone!
